“The Opposite Side” — 99th Christmas Festival Fireworks

Captured during the 99th Annual Natchitoches Christmas Festival, this photograph marks a perspective almost no one has ever seen — the fireworks erupting over Cane River from the opposite side of the riverbank, a vantage point untouched in the event’s history.

Throughout the years, the festival has been photographed from the same familiar shoreline. But on this night, with rare permission granted and the cold air sitting still over the water, the sky tore open in a way that felt entirely new. Fireworks consumed the river from edge to edge, the reflections stretching into electric ribbons across the surface while smoke rolled low and alive.

This frame is the exact moment the festival flipped inside out —
a tradition seen from a side no one thought to stand on,
a lifetime of memories suddenly rewritten in color and light.

The viral response to this image is no accident.
This shot captures the feeling of the festival — not just the fireworks, but the history, the heat, the anticipation, and the magnitude of witnessing something familiar become something extraordinary.

A defining photograph from a once-in-a-century festival year.

Printed on Archival Matte Fine Art Paper

8×12" print area with a 2" white border (12×16" overall size)

Each print is produced on Archival Matte Paper (Moab Lasal Photo Matte) — a museum-quality, acid-free fine art stock chosen for its smooth surface, rich contrast, and exceptional color accuracy.
This heavyweight 230gsm paper elevates the warm golds, deep blacks, and subtle atmospheric details of the Cane River night, ensuring the image displays with depth, clarity, and true fine-art presence.

Engineered for longevity, this print is made to last —a collectible piece of Natchitoches history meant to be displayed, preserved, and passed down.

A defining photograph from a once-in-a-century festival year.

Each print from this release will be individually signed and numbered, making every piece a true collector’s edition.
