FILM
I don’t shoot film to be nostalgic. I shoot it because it fights back. In a world obsessed with instant everything, film makes you wait. Makes you earn it. Most so-called creators today wouldn’t dare load a 35mm roll from the late ’90s or trust a camera older than they are—but I do. I chase light on expired film, fresh stock, whatever I can get my hands on. But I lean into Kodak Portra the most. It’s got a palette that feels like memory and mood rolled into one. Film doesn’t just capture a scene—it gives it teeth. Grain, streaks, flaws, unpredictability. All the things that make it feel real. I shoot film because it’s imperfect. And that’s where the magic is.
