BLACK AND WHITE FILM PORTRAIT PROJECT

Everyone that was interested in participating in my black and white film portrait project; I’ll be reaching out in the next couple weeks to start scheduling these sessions. I had been narrowing down the film/camera/lens combo that I wanted to shoot these on and I’m now ready to begin.

If you’re interested in being part of a project and don’t mind being photographed, you’ll be part of a project that will go into a professional portfolio of portraits on film.

To reiterate; this is just a personal/professional project for a desire to create something different. In such a modern, fast paced world where it’s everything digital, taking a break from the super-fast, high output, digital cameras of today and find my way back to slower, less computer based cameras, and creating images on film is a way to slow down. Focus more on creating images in more ‘back to basics’ approach.

I want to solidify the fact that no matter if your a seasoned business owner or a young entrepreneur just getting started; the camera you have or on your cell phone is plenty enough to create content and build an audience. I too get caught up in the hype of the latest tech and gear that can do more of the work for me, faster, and better than the version that came before it, but that’s easy…

Old school film and old camera aren’t as forgiving. Even with light meters, tripods and a general overview of the process, you don’t have the luxury of looking onto back of the camera screen or the screen of your phone to see immediately what your shots with look like. That’s the fun of it for me. Using expired film in cameras some older than I am helps me to just focus on the creating and less on the tech, the speed, and the efficiency.

So if you didn’t reach out the first time, or you think this is something you might want to take part in please just let me know on social media or sign up here. At the end of this project once everything has been developed and scanned you’ll get your shots digitally scanned so you can print them, save them, or share them all you want!

Thanks for your interest and thanks for your time!
